Pours a moderate ruby in the glass - inky at the core, with a slight purple hue at the rim. This is a wine that benefits from a bit of warmth in the glass, so skip the cool cellar temp and let it open up. Serve it just below room temperature to really unlock what Pinot Noir does best. At first sniff, it could almost pass for a ripe-vintage Victorian Pinot, but as it unfolds, the fruit gets darker, denser, more brooding. Blackberry compote, blackcurrant, and spiced plum dominate.
