2022 Ten Minutes by Tractor Estate 'Up the Hill' Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes

Pairs well with

Origin: Mornington Peninsula, Australia
Type: Light-bodied red
Grape(s): Pinot Noir
ABV: 13%
The 2022 vintage was slightly cooler, so the grapes took a bit of time to ripen, resulting in solid fruit concentration and high acidity. A bit of reduction that hits on the first crack and then combines with gorgeous aromas of bergamot oil, pink roses, almond tart, wild strawberries and unripe blackcurrant. Structurally, this is young, but hopefully we’ll see more soon. A wine to buy a few cases of and save for a rainy day. Beautiful expression of a beautiful grape.
Ten Minutes by Tractor is a world-renown winery on the Mornington Peninsula. It is the convergence of wine journeys that began almost 40 years ago with a group of friends and vineyards that fortuitously came together over time to create the winery that exists today.
The winery started in 1997 with three family-owned vineyards in Main Ridge, all ten minutes apart by tractor. The Spedding family purchased the brand in 2004 after years of searching for the perfect vineyard site. Their goal has always been clear - “Put simply – grow the best fruit we can, make wines that express the character of their origin and continue to put them in front of people who appreciate the difference.” Since then they have added new vineyards, but all have their own unique character with different aspects, slopes, soils, altitude and winds which flow through the valleys up from Bass Strait.
Martin and Karen’s energy, drive and vision have transformed Ten Minutes by Tractor into one of the leading cool climate wineries in Australia and one of the most popular winery destinations on the Mornington Peninsula.
